Marvel’s ultra-gritty Daredevil series was an instant hit when it debuted on Netflix earlier this year, becoming one of the streaming service’s most popular and critically acclaimed shows. The show has already been renewed for a second season, but there’s more coming than just Mr. Murdock. The same project that also birthed Daredevil also involved two more shows based on mature Marvel comics, and the second of these now has a release date.

Marvel’s Jessica Jones will premiere its first 13-episode season on November 20. The titular character is a former superhero who retired after a bitter defeat and now works as a detective. Krysten Ritter plays Jessica and Devid Tennant also stars as Kilgrave aka The Purple Man, the supervillain responsible for ending Jess’s superhero career (the incident apparently being so bad that Jess now suffers form PTSD). Luke Cage (played by Mike Colter) will also make an appearance on the show, and he’ll be getting the third Marvel Netflix series later on.

Showrunner Steven S. DeKnight describes Jessica as an “incredibly flawed, damaged, interesting character” but notes the feel and tone of the show will be different from Daredevil’s, though both shows take place in the same universe.

Netflix has also released a trailer for the series, but it’s weird and abstract and isn’t going to tell you much. Watch it anyway if you feel like it.
