One of the big surprises of Sony’s E3 conference was the reveal of a new Spider-Man game. Spider-Man is no stranger to video games, having starred in them throughout the history of the medium, but as AAA game budgets have risen and licensed titles have fallen by the wayside in favor of franchises, he hasn’t shown up as often as he used to.
Now not only is Spider-Man coming back to consoles, but we’re virtually assured he’ll get a good game because Insomniac Games (the team behind Sly Cooper) is behind this one. It’s unknown if this title has any intentional ties to the upcoming Marvel movie Spider-Man: Homecoming, but the Spidey suit shown here has the same eye-narrowing ability that we saw on Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War.
Here’s the trailer. Insomniac’s Spider-Man game has no release date, and is only listed as “in development.”
