UK based anime distributor Anime Limited today announced their licensing of Seiji Mizushima’s Fullmetal Alchemist series, the first animated adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa’s popular manga. Set in an alternate world where humans can wield the near magical science of alchemy, the series focuses on the young brothers Ed and Al Elric who seek to locate the legendary Philosopher’s Stone to undo a fate forced on them for daring to break the strictest rule of alchemy. As they proceed on their quest they discover dark elements at play with their own designs on the stone.
Anime Limited will be releasing the series for the first time on Blu-ray in the UK, starting with an elaborate Ultimate Edition. Set to release 31st October the set will contain all 51 episodes of the show, a 31cm x 25cm resin model of the iconic Gate, a 280 page art book and 14 art cards. Plus exclusively for those who pre-order before 1st October comes the bonus of a letter from King Bradley stating the owner’s qualification as a State Alchemist, complete with code name.
The set, limited to only 970 pieces, will retail for £299.99 but those who pre-order from Anime Limited now through July 5th will receive it for the discounted price of £124.99, going up to £149.99 for then up to time of release.
