Nickelodeon UK have announced a 15th January start date for new interactive digitial series Tinkershrimp & Dutch, due to air on digitial services including nick.co.uk / nicktoons.co.uk and Nick Play. The series will see the titular Tinkershrimp (Darren Evans) and Dutch (John Boyega) acting as time travelling bodyguards for King Hunnybun III (Alex Lowe), ruler of New Great Great Britain. Across the series of five minute episodes the pair must use time travel to thwart the plans of Michael the Fowl (Sam Riley), a nefarious headless chicken. Gregor Stevenson, co-creator of the series comments, “We wanted to create characters and a world where anything could happen, so spent a lot of time coming up with the most insane, hyper-British situations we could think of. At the core of it though, is basically a story about a group of friends who are trying to have a good time. Oh, and they can travel back in time to foil the schemes of Michael The Fowl, our evil headless chicken.”
Viewing the episodes online will enable interactive elements to steer the plot, whereas Nick Play will present the episodes for traditional viewing. Suzie Adams, Digital Director Nickelodeon UK and Ireland states “Tinkershrimp & Dutch is hilarious with brilliant characters and ingenious storytelling.
