You thought “Star Wars” was big? Well, it is…but it is even bigger than you may have thought as it will change the theme park of its parent company. Disneyland announced that “Star Wars”-themed changes will be coming to its flagship theme park, Disneyland in Anaheim, California, beginning next month.
Specifically, a new “Star Wars”-themed section of the park named “Season of the Force” will be built into 14 acres of the 85-1cre park, permanently or temporarily replacing some 10 attractions including Space Mountain, Star Tours, Innovations building, Big Thunder Ranch, Rivers of America, Fantasmic, Mark Twain Riverboat, Columbia sailing ship, Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island, Disneyland Railroad and Davy Crockett Explorer canoes.
Construction of the new “Season of the Force” attractions will take the entire calendar year to finish and begins on January 10, 2016 [so plan your trip accordingly].
