Variety reports that actor and comedian Marty Ingels died Wednesday at Tarzana Medical Center from a massive stroke. He was 79.
Ingels once starred in the sitcom I’m Dickens, He’s Fenster in 1962, co-starring Addams Family star John Astin. After the show was cancelled, he made guest appearances on shows like The Dick Van Dyke Show, Bewitched, Baywatch, CSI, and New Girl.
Ingels provided the voices of AutoCat on AutoCat and Motormouse, and was well known as Beegle Beagle, the canine sidekick of a forty foot purple gorilla on The Great Grape Ape Show. He was also the voice of 80s video game icon Pac-Man on the Hanna-Barbera cartoon of the same name.
Ingels was survived by his wife of 38 years, former Partridge Family star and Oscar winner Shirley Jones; stepsons Shaun, Ryan, and Patrick Cassidy; neice, Lauren Ingerman, and 12 grandchildren.
