Remember last week when Melissa McBride talked about her mom? Now Andrew Lincoln is talking about his mom. I guess you could assume the final scene of Season 6 was effective, because it sure rattled the mothers of Walking Dead actors. McBride’s mother can’t stop worrying that it’s her who will die (despite not being in the scene, and nowhere near it).

Lincoln’s mother is a bit smarter than that, but concerned for her son’s mental well-being. As he recounted to EW, “I remember my mother said to me, ‘That’s going to be quite a challenge to get back into that state that you were straight after a break.’ And I just said, ‘Thanks, mom. That’s kind of my job, thank you.’”

it’s part of a larger interview about Rick, and the unshakable ego and pride he exhibited throughout Season 6 that was shattered in the end. “As the season finished, the story was about Rick being broken, “and realizing that basically everything that he thought has been turned upside down in the space pretty of much of a day. The world that he fought and strove for for so long has irrevocably changed.”

In case you were wondering if the crew knows by now who doesn’t make it, Lincoln’s remark here would indicate they do. “Norman [Reedus] put it very eloquently,” said Lincoln. “He said, ‘You know, somebody’s going to lose their job at the end of that.’ It’s a big deal, man. It’s a big deal. It’s a family on set.”
