At Gamescom 2016 in Cologne, Germany this week, Koei Tecmo released a boatload of new screenshots and details for the upcoming beta demo for the upcoming action-RPG Nioh. The next downloadable demo for the game is due out will be available starting next week. You can check out the new screenshots for the game, and a new trailer for the beta demo, below. The Nioh Beta Demo will be available at the PlayStation Store from August 23 until September 6. After that, the demo will be disabled. Gamers will have a second and final chance to obtain the Mark of the Conqueror DLC and the all-new Mark of the Strong DLC. The beta demo will have new environments, new weapons, a new vile and new enemies to face.
The first stage of the demo will feature new challenges. Warriors who beat Usuki and obtained the DLC during the Alpha Demo will receive a set of weapons and more starting money for the beta demo. They will also have the chance to play through the new Nakatsu stage without having to go through the Usuki stage again.
The Nakatsu stage features the game’s protagonist, William, going along a treacherous mountain path to a deep cave, where he has to prevail against various enemies, including Hinoenma, a Yokai who takes the form of a beautiful woman. Beating this stage will net players the Mark of the Strong DLC, which will be available for the game’s official launch.
Additionally, a training dojo has been added to the demo. It’s described as a tutorial stage that’s been implemented to give newcomers a chance to learn how to use the katana in-game. It will be available at the beginning of the demo.
Nioh is due out later this year. The game will be available exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
