The Battleborn franchise is losing its lead writer this week. Battleborn’s lead writer Aaron Linde revealed on his Twitter account today that he’s leaving Gearbox Software. You can check out his tweet on the subject below. June 3 marks Linde’s last day at the company.
It appears that Linde is leaving on good terms. He wrote, “Absolutely love this team and am incredibly proud of the work we did together.” In another tweet, he wrote that he’s moving to the Pacific Northwest to pursue an “awesome opportunity,” and he will share more details on to what this pertains later on. It’s not clear what Linde has planned, but it should be interesting to see where he ends up next.
Linde joined Gearbox Software in October 2013. He previously worked on Monolith’s Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor as a writing consult, and his other credits include Gears of War at Microsoft. It hasn’t been unusual for game story and scenario writers to move on or leave the company. It’s actually been happening quite a bit this year.
Battleborn is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. So far, it’s not clear how Linde leaving Gearbox and the Battleborn franchise will have an impact on the game, if at all.
Got some news, fellas! Tomorrow's my last day at Gearbox. Absolutely love this team and am incredibly proud of the work we did together.
