No kidding, folks, There are several stars that would love a run on the popular cable series, but perhaps none more strongly than the musician, singer and American Idol finalist Chris Daughtry. He has been poking and prodding the producers for quite some time. As he tells Music Times:
Honestly I’ve been lobbying for The Walking Dead. I’ve been auditioning for the last season. You know the stringy blonde-haired dude with the half burnt face? That was the role I auditioned for. We hate him, so maybe it’s a good thing I didn’t get him because I’ll have a more beloved role.
Daughtry’s efforts to launch an acting career of any kind haven’t gone very far. In addition to repeatedly failing to get onto The Walking Dead, his only other credits include a failed pilot called Second City, and the role of Judas in Fox’s live Jesus musical from last Easter, which no one saw.
He just doesn’t have the clout at the moment, and I don’t see the Walking Dead producers as being the type who cast recording stars anyway. However, I am 105% positive there would be a seat waiting for him on the couch of Talking Dead if he just made one phone call to Chris Hardwick. They will let anyone in there. Tamara Mowry of “Sister Sister” fame was there last week.
