The CW’s upcoming pilot episode of “Riverdale” – based on the Archie comic books of yore – had cast all the major characters except for Veronica. That omission has now been rectified with the casting of Camila Mendes as the other half of the notorious Betty-and-Veronica girl duo.
It will be the first major lead role for Mendes, a Brazilian-Canadian model whose previous credits are primarily for modeling projects and music video appearances.
