Know a friend who might be thinking of getting into Call of Duty matches, but stops just short of doing it due to the $60 (and up) barrier? Good news for that guy: Activision has launched a special Call of Duty Starter Pack that delivers a limited number of multiplayer maps for the playing, for just 15 clams.
What does one get for their limited investment? Complete access to Black Ops 3’s ranked matches, arena, freerun, the theater and the weapons paint shop. There’s a level cap of 55, which seasoned pros would chafe at (but beginners wouldn’t notice). And it’s called MULTIPLAYER Starter Pack for a reason, so the Campaign and Zombies modes aren’t in it. Also, the pack is so far limited to PC gamers.
If you already own Black Ops 3, there’s nothing about this half-release that should interest you, but for the right customer, the Multiplayer Starter Pack could be their gateway drug. Just so you don’t think Activision is being TOO generous, the entire product is a limited time offer and will be pulled off the Steam shelves after February 29.
