Those who play Call of Duty online frequently are familiar with events that grant double XP for either your character or your weapons. It’s never been both at the same time, though, until now.
Activision has announced the first Double Double Weekend, effective immediately and lasting through Tuesday. Why Tuesday? President’s Day inteference, probably. Play the game this weekend, get double double XP. Simple as that. Get to it!
In the meantime, Treyarch has also announced they have updated one of the multiplayer maps as a tribute to Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch. You may remember Lynch made an appearance in the game’s single-player mode, voiced and mo-capped in person. He has now announced his retirement from the NFL, and as gratitude, Treyarch has changed the Combine map so that any reference to “1-A” is replaced with “24,” Lynch’s number. “It’s a nice way to say thanks to a longtime Call of Duty fan,” Treyarch said.
Lynch does love himself some Call of Duty, and now he’s going to have a lot more time to play it.
